Terrestrial AIS uses land-based receivers to capture vessel signals within coastal areas (typically up to 50-100 nautical miles from shore). Satellite AIS uses satellites to receive signals, providing global coverage including vessels in open oceans beyond the reach of terrestrial receivers.
Yes. Upgrading gives immediate access to Professional features. Downgrading keeps Professional features active until the end of your current billing period.
Both Standard and Professional support 1 concurrent user at a time. A "concurrent user" means one active session — when you sign out or go inactive, that seat is released.
You'll see a message that the seat is in use. You can choose "Use on this device instead" (this ends the active session on the other device) or contact us to add more seats. We never sign anyone out silently.
Yes. To add more simultaneous users, contact our operations team at shipfinder@elaneglobal.com. We'll help you arrange a plan that fits your needs.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and PayPal. Wire transfers are available for annual plans.
AIS position accuracy is typically within 10 meters. Terrestrial updates are near real-time (2-10s intervals). Satellite updates vary based on coverage, from minutes to a few hours.
Data remains in read-only mode for 30 days after cancellation. Export your saved vessels and routes during this period. After 30 days, features revert to the Basic plan limits.
